MAW, Santa Barbara – Day Forty8

(August 8) Tonight will be the opening night for “Marriage of Figaro.” During the first part of the day, I went to the pool and warmed up my body through swimming. I feel that this will be my new way of warming up before singing. It helps with breathing, as well. My mom and dad picked me up at Cate School, and dropped me off early at Lobero Theater. They came also to see my performance. The performance went really well. I didn’t make any mistakes. I was surprised at how the audience responded to my role. I may have found one of those roles (Basilio) which I will be doing for a very long while. After the performance, I greeted, in addition to my parents, Mona (Lands), Jamie (Chamberlin) and Evan (Hughes). It was so nice of them to support me that night. For the remainder of the night, I just hung out at the Rec Center.
