(August 9) Since it was a break today (no opera), I just went swimming at the pool, picking up some necessities at Rite Aid, and came back to the pool for more water action. Later in the evening, I went to dinner to Megan and Antonio’s compeer, Marion Stewart, and had a fabulous dinner. With us were Joni, Jerome and Tim. We started the evening with champagne, brie and “Wasabe” caviar. I really loved the caviar. We had veal for dinner, and strawberry pie for dessert. I didn’t drink as much red wine, since I wasn’t really a fan of zinfandels. After dinner, we went back to Cate (Rec Center) and hung out for another hour or so.

(August Tonight will be the opening night for “Marriage of Figaro.” During the first part of the day, I went to the pool and warmed up my body through swimming. I feel that this will be my new way of warming up before singing. It helps with breathing, as well. My mom and dad picked me up at Cate School, and dropped me off early at Lobero Theater. They came also to see my performance. The performance went really well. I didn’t make any mistakes. I was surprised at how the audience responded to my role. I may have found one of those roles (Basilio) which I will be doing for a very long while. After the performance, I greeted, in addition to my parents, Mona (Lands), Jamie (Chamberlin) and Evan (Hughes). It was so nice of them to support me that night. For the remainder of the night, I just hung out at the Rec Center.
