Journal for July 30, Wednesday:

Lesson with Marilyn Horne. Had to re-adjust to the way she is encouraging me to sing, which I really like. I wanna be honest here. If I compare Horne and Carama’s teaching, there IS a difference. I like how Ms. Horne is handling my voice. Carama’s ideas are also good, and a good amount I can apply, although not all of them are applicable to me. What I really want for my voice is this: A good top, a rich middle and a very relaxed larynx/throat. This is something where I’d rather have one or nothing at all. Moving right along, I had a coaching with Warren Jones on the duet for this Saturday’s Masterclass. That was very helpful. That’s it for Wednesday.
