Today started early with a Sitzprobe (Rehearsal with Orchestra) at Abravanel Hall for Act I of Marriage of Figaro. Ate lunch at Subway. Had staging rehearsal in the afternoon, and a run-through of the whole opera in the evening. My voice is pretty much beat right now, and I’m resting to recover for tomorrow’s Masterclass.

Journal for July 31, Thursday:

Wished my brother a happy birthday… he turned 30 today! Had a very early “Cabaret” chorus coaching with Linda Jones, followed by some Figaro staging and another coaching of the Masterclass repertoire with Warren Jones. Had time to go swimming at the pool. Hey, even though I’m using “noodles” (floatation devices), I’m now able to jump of the diving board! Since I sang a lot yesterday and today, I cancelled my lesson with Carama.
