Woke up late today (9:45am). Didn’t eat breakfast, but made it to lunch. Felt very weak the whole day, feeling dehyrdrated. Erica suggested that I drink Gatorade, so I did.

There was a “Hugo Wolf” Masterclass with Mr. Battaglia today at Abravanel Hall in the Music Academy. The singers were Tim (tenor), Justin (baritone), Wendy (mezzo-soprano), Erica (soprano) and Alex (baritone). The masterclass went really went. We stayed at Santa Barbara after the masterclass, and went to a Japanese restaurant. Most of my colleagues ate sushi, but I stayed with a meat/rice combo. After that, we headed to Downtown Santa Barbara for the “Tuesdays at 8pm” concert at the Lobero Theater, which included performances by Justin Plank (baritone), accompanied by Warren Jones. I don’t want to say too much about the program, but I will try to summarize it as short as I can: The instrumental (quintet) was a less fascinating for my taste. I was trying not to doze off. The second and third piece was very enjoyable. I didn’t stay for the second half after intermission, since I wasn’t really a fan of instrumental music, if so, I’m a very picky one.

After the concert, we headed back to Cate School, hung out with friends at the Rec-Center, and went home. I only have one coaching tomorrow, and it’s with Marilyn Horne. I will post everything about it tomorrow. Ciao!
